It’s the second half of Titanic all over again. Poseidon is certainly watchable. The director has put in enough to keep your eyes locked to the screen. But there’s a certain something missing. That something, which made you feel really sorry for the people dying in the Titanic. I think it was the music that was lacking.
Seated at the most expensive Gandhi class seat at Inox, you know that there are these people who are going to drown to their deaths. And there’s the glass thats going to break sooner or later. And there’s this group of people who are going to survive (well, some of them). It’s just a matter of how.
No soul stirring scenes for you here. It doesn’t involve the viewer the way Titanic did. A couple of good action sequences, good tidal wave scene. Apart from that, the movie is too predictable. We’ve seen it all, right?
Not everyone agrees with me, but I personally find Will & Grace to be funnier that Friends. I just love the pill-popping, alcoholic and evil Karen Walker. The first time I heard her I was shocked by her mousy voice. But then that was the voice we all grew to love. The show still lags behind on Indian television. But in the US, the show is coming to an end soon. It was a great show, in my opinion, but the show wasn’t without its share of controversies.
Everyone knows that Eric McCormack (who plays the gay lawyer Will Truman) is straight in real life. But it seems to endlessly upset everyone that Sean Hayes (who plays Jack) won’t reveal if he’s really gay. I’d really like to know what the fuss is all about. Everyone has an opinion on this. Take this discussion for example. I had the patience only to look at the first page, but scroll to the bottom of the page – and you will find that there are no less than two hundred pages of comments! It’s almost like everyone knows that Sean Hayes is “100% gay.” But they all want to hear it from the horse’s mouth.
Why is it that we (they) expect Jack to be gay and Karen to be a pill-popping alcoholic in real life? Some things about people, I will never understand.
Anyway, here is the cast with Oprah, talking about favorite scenes and pooping. It’s more than worth the watch.
