Please welcome Jayamala to politics

Not being a follower of some of the celibate Gods around, I did not know that it was a sin for women to fall on these Gods. But it is. And if you happen to fall on one accidentally, it is quite easy to atone for your sins. All your letters of apology can be faxed to the same God’s fax machine. It is about time these high tech Gods opened websites of their own to prevent overcrowding at their temples. Some use of Macromedia flash may be required to actually see the jyothi, but older browsers will also be supported (aka graded browser support).

jayamalaOne can hardly blame Jayamala for accidentally “falling” on God decades ago, and then faxing an apology letter to God last week, when it was actually someone who pushed her from behind. And I thought women are not allowed at Shabarimalai. I was wrong. Girija Lokesh has been there too with her kids.

Furthermore I have been mistaken about privacy at God’s. Apparently they have a rat at God’s office who’s selling God’s personal fax messages to the media. This calls for another sting operation. I wonder what these TV channels are still doing. Are they not worried about ratings any more?

What’s more likeable than a pious God fearing image for a woman who has all her life played the bad woman in her movies?

Legislators cutting across the party lines backed the actress when the issue was discussed in the State Legislative assembly during zero hour. The house will again discuss the issue on Monday.

Congress MLA S S Patil raised the issue and it was supported by legislators from all parties and they criticised the practices at the famed temple as ‘anti-women’. KCVP member Vatal Nagaraj even staged a walk out on the issue.

Patil described the ban on women to enter into the temple as an insult to the entire women folk and nothing but practicing untouchability. He demanded the government to refer the issue to the Centre.

But no, that is not enough. While she appealed to the temple authorities to put an end to the “unnecessary controversy” and allow her to live in peace, at the very same time…

“Being a true devotee of the Lord, I am sure he will do justice to me as I have not committed any mistake,” Jayamala said.

She said she would celebrate her 5Oth birthday by visiting the shrine again.
