I participated in the Anti war protest at Chicago today evening, to mark the 5th anniversary of the Iraq “shock and awe” war.
Please find some pictures from my cellphone camera here. I’m afraid the quality of these photographs is not terribly good, but that’s what I get for leaving my camera home.
Tibetians in exile in India are opposed to the Olympic games to be held at China. They want to organize a 6 month march from Dharmasala, India to Tibet (now China) to express their protest. The Indian government has issued a ban on this march, and has rounded up some Tibetian monks.
I strongly oppose this action by the Indian government. The Tibetians should be free to do as they wish. They are taking a considerable risk to express their view point. They are doing this in a peaceful, democratic manner. I don’t see why the Indian government should be opposed to it.
India needs to stop pretending to please China, and offer Tibetians their freedom of expression.
