Adarsh,
The labellings and certitudes by ELM weigh so heavy on us that we are unable to analyse the things on their own merit. Only a lunatic will equate Bajrang Dal with Islamic terror. For those already sold to the ELM prognosis there is an array of choice. For the few who refuse to buy the apparently obvious politcal biases of psec ELM we have blogs such as offstumped.

Nice. One just hopes for a time when people can stay in India and be who they really are, instead of seeking refuge elsewhere - I'm glad that there are signs of progress, however feeble they might still be.

As society progresses, our notions of right and wrong change. What was unthinkable in the past becomes debatable, and is finally accepted as mainstream. I acknowledge your point that the judgment itself has no notion of morality. But it has triggered a public debate, which has everything to do with morality — a little foot in the door, but progress still.

Anjan, there was the largest mass coordinated protest all across the world in 2003, right before US was about to invade Iraq. It was so great that it made the guiness world record.
